My live was confusing,

You were there.

You told me what to do,

Showed me that you care.

My life felt complete,

You lifted my weight.

The twinkle in your eye made me giggle,

I soared like a kite.

Through the day and late into the night,

We would laugh and talk.

Telling anything and everything,

Hoping we wouldn’t get caught.

With every hug and every chat,

What I did was not smart.

Whether either of us knew it or not,

I gave you my heart.

I closed my eyes,

I didn’t want to see.

There were others,

Not just me.

You laughed and flirted,

Played a game.

Any time I had your attention,

I did the same.

I had to open my eyes,

HE wasn’t there.

It was just you and me,

To you, to HIM, and to me it wasn’t fare.

I can smile,

Every time I dream.

But it’s just that,

A DREAM.
